18 months... and counting!

Well... it's not that hard if you don't log in months in a row!

After again several months of not logging in to sl, I finally have logged in a few times again. I got amazed reactions when people realise I am (locked) in my suit for about one and a half year already, which is kinda fun. They should look at my sl age too, ahem *blushes*
In my eyes however, it doesn't feel like such a big achievement, because when you subtract all the time I haven't been online in sl, there wouldn't be much left of those 18 months. And perhaps it's also this rl distance I am able to take from sl nowadays, that allows me to persist in the suit and even still enjoy it.

Even during my long absences though, sl, and more in particular this full body latex suit, has never been completely out of my mind. I don't know what that tells about my... inner self?
Nah, I'm not going to elaborate on this one ^^

So, what brought me back? I don't know really. Some spare time? The need to "feel" my restrictions once more? Curiosity on how sl is evolving?

Probably the die hard fans will prove me wrong, but sl is considered a dying world, and somewhere I read about a "next generation" virtual world being developed (if only I could remember what or where, I could post a link or something..)
Anyway, my own observations tell me that in general the sl world might be shrinking, but a small core of (let's call them) die-hards keep visiting it and some even keep being creative in it, like by building all those beautiful mesh bodies and outfits, or by scripting all those evil restrictions. I'm still afraid the mass of visitors - and the money they are willing to pay - will eventually shrink below a critical point, where LL will decide to pull the plug. I am not following all of this close enough to have any funded idea how far we might be from this point, but if you are, feel free to discuss in the comments. Please don't blame me too much of being pessimistic though, I know that already! ^o^

Some of you know I'm on DeviantArt as well, although mostly as a consumer. I found this pic recently:
This could have been me!
...or not: my hair is white, and I am wearing different cuffs, and a chastity belt.

Thinking of DeviantArt, the drawback of being restricted as I am, i.e. with rather limited visual capacities, is that I can't produce any more deviant art. (as if I would have time for that)

Kisses... erhm, face visor light flashes,

Has it been that long?

OMG, has it been that long since my last post?
I'm sorry I didn't get to this earlier. I even missed the opportunity to celebrate me being in the ISO suit for one full (!) year!

Yes, and meanwhile it's already 14 months or something. But guess what: I'm not finished yet, I'm still loving being completely covered by latex. And also, my set up is still evolving, with some additional scripting now and then. It's mainly the scripting and the addition of new features (or restrictions) that keep me interested.

So a short update on the most recent changes: since yesterday night, I'm not able to speak anymore outside the drone station. It was already the only place where I had access to my inventory, where I could start IM, or where I could take of the suit's hood for short times.
From now on, when exploring or visiting friends, my only communication is blinking green (yes) or red (no), and limited emotes. Indeed, limited emotes: a small but smart trick forces me to think twice before emoting, and efficiently prevents me from (ab)using the emote channel to talk. For those remembering my good old hood scripts, it's been in there as well.
When outside the station, I've been unable to start IM for some time already, and that's still the case. I'm still able to read and answer IM however, so please don't feel held back to IM me: if it were to "ruin" my isolation, it would have been turned of, wouldn't it?

In exchange for being "silenced", I got my battery life doubled, to allow me to explore more, or longer. Did I tell you before any movement drains my battery? Whether it is walking, running, flying, or TP-ing? I can tell you it's pretty scaring when my battery runs dry somewhere abroad, and so it makes exploring with friends pretty stressful and even not really enjoyable anymore.
And since this suit is supposed to increase fun, and not lessen it, this fix is very welcome. Oh, and being silenced also adds to my battery life, as speaking is also a battery draining activity.

I have some more little scripting projects in mind, so in case you wonder, I'm not out of my beloved suit yet.
I'm also not sure how I would manage not being restricted anymore: some time ago I have been suffering some SL hiccups, resulting in me having unrestricted vision for some time, and I felt uncomfortable and disoriented by the things I'm not used to see anymore, like hover texts and bright colours. And peripheral vision of course, instead of this visor in the middle of my screen.

So. when we meet in world next time, please enjoy my silence!
(and if you don't want to, there's still IM ^^ )
